Yay!
I certainly accomplished something today as well! Four items taken off the Reuse/Recycle/Refashion pile. All the notion were also reused.
The garments were also WIPs and UFOs, though.
An old boyfriend's shirt became baby pajamas:

The more I look at it, the more I see a white skirt on the bottom...
As always, using remnants - orange polkadot knit and some white from a small pareo.
The pattern is, again, Burda 5/2009 -103A. I changed the long sleeves with more flared small cap sleeves.
Actually, this shirt was finished a few days ago. Still, I was looking at it and was not satisfied. Something was missing.
I tried this and that, and the only thing that seemed to work was this doily. What do you think?
It's just pinned on. Looks lovely to me.
Should I sew it on?
The whole thing started with a Burda pattern I've never tried before. Won't even mention it. I had to alter it so much I'm happy the shirt came out decently.

The idea was making a slit slightly to one side of the neckline and embellish it with these buttons
The small one was too small, and the big one turned out to be too heavy. Boo. Anyway, we got to use this piece of flowery trim from stash. The buttons will find the right spot, eventually.
One of my favorite ways of elongating a skirt is by adding a crocheted lace border. I love it. This technique is fun, easy and quick and the results are always great. No mistake.
This true vintage skirt was given to me by J. I loved to wear it so so much. I loved the fit and the fabric. And the little bunches of fruit print.I hope it makes someone else happy because I decided to donate it.
The woolen fabric remnant that became this skirt was given to me by my friend N. I still like it and I'm keeping this one, too.
Would you ever crochet a lace border on your skirt? It is a pretty girlie detail, isn't it? Would you like a quick tutorial?
The patterned fabric is from a second-hand shop skirt. It waited patiently inside my closet for the perfect match, which came eventually in the form of a yellow shirt that shrank after washing. I also added a few crocheted embellishments.

Sorry, I couldn't do any better by myself. The photos were either out of focus or cut. The mirror is not on the wall because a cable runs right where it should be hung. Anyway, I think this pic gives the idea. Notice the shoes!
Once my favorite shoes, almost worn to death, now got a completely new look!
They were black with a slim bow. Sorry, I don't have a before photo, but you can see the little bow here, among the embellishment options.
Some crafting steps:
I painted the shoes with silver contour paste used for silk and a sponge.
The flowers were knitted with cotton yarn from the bag I got at the Sunday market.
The bigger flower looked better to me, but still something was missing .
So I sewed this metal piece on both the flowers and added yarn bows.
I glued the bows first, and after that the flowers.

Made out of bits, scraps and remnants. Love it a lot. Carry it a lot 'cause it makes me happy.
My first attempt. In steps:
1. Recycle boyfriend's gray t-shirt and my old pink sleeveless
2. Use piece of old wallpaper to make stencil (Ups, I already had that, but more about the stencil later...)
3. Paint with silver paint for fabric
4. Lay pink fabric onto gray fabric on the wrong side and secure in place
5. Hand stitch around the pattern with metallic thread
6. Cut out shapes on the gray and trim the pink
7. Admire your work a bit and be content
8. Test wear your super creation, get some compliments from friends :-)
9. Wash (Oh, no! The silver paint is GONE!)
10. Find out the way to put some silver paint on again...To be done in the near future.

You can (barely) see the shade of the silver paint on the left shoulder I left uncut on purpose. Oh well...

This one was made out some jeans fabric remnant I got, and an old shirt, and embellished with circles made out of remnants of embroidery thread and some old buttons. The pattern is from Burda.
I might embellish it a bit more, though. What do you think?
