I made a dress, made a dress!
Lovely pattern, quick and easy to make.
The first thing I did was to lengthen the pattern. Oh, yes, this time I did it!
At first it seemed great, bodice length and all, but then the weight of the fabric pulled down the already scooped neckline too much. It took me two days to come up with a solution. Like it?
If I look purple it's because these photos were taken last week during the winter cold temperatures.
Here you can see that I closed the seam of the sleeves.
This fabric is very soft and drapey and fresh on the skin. The dress will be perfect for summer. Can't wait to wear it!
Great dress. You can almost see how soft it must feel, lovely!

Lovely dress. You are the best with those BWOF patterns. Any tips on getting them traced.

Thanks!
Faye, make sure to check the measurements. I usually trace a 40 for the tops and 42 for the bottoms. If your height is in their average ( around 168 cm) than you shouldn't have any problems with the length. Burda patterns fit nicely.
The one thing I dislike the most is the knit tops sleeves. I think they are badly drafted. When you rise your arms they tend to pull the whole garment upwards. So, it would be better to make a muslin first.
The pattern sheets used to be clear nad the pattern pieces easy to trace. Now I've learned they squeezed two sheets into one so one should pay more attention to the lines, I guess.
I use light, easily see trough paper to trace the patterns because I don't want to ruin the basic sheets.
Oh, and the most important thing, Burda patterns come without seam allowances. You have to add your own.
Hope this helps! :-)
