On Saturday, while Z and I were walking around town, we spotted this fabric and went - Wow! Isn't this cute? And for the first time ever Z asked If I was going to make him a pair of summer pants.
Ehm, this is pink. Wouldn't you prefer the blue one? Oh, yes. Then, I'll by the pink one for you! :-)))

The simplest sleeveless top pattern and an unusual fabric for the second SMOT entry.
Pieces of the outer knit fabric are attached to the knit base. I love the texture. And it is very very soft and cozy.
I couldn't resist. There were so many beautiful colors!
Bought 70 cm of this for a skirt.

I went through my boxes of scraps. I found some fabrics I forgot about. I guess that happens to a number of us! Doesn't it?
I sometimes think of what it would look like if I sewed only with the fabrics purchased with a specific garment in mind. The truth is that the fabrics which make my heart run faster get sewn right away, but how would it be without any fabric to fantasize over? Impossible. Not feasable. I'm a crafter to the bones. When inspiration strikes I need to be ready. How would you bake without flour in the pantry and eggs in the fridge? Any thoughts?

I didn't want to publish this post without pictures :-), so here you are:
A project started last year. To be a dress. Soon.
I love fabrics! I love looking at them, feeling them, imagining garments out of them. Often times I come home with a beautiful piece just because it is flowery, sparkly or colorful. Other times I get fabrics from friends because they know I will make something out of them. Two thirds of the fabrics I own were handovers. On the other hand I have plenty of scraps and remnants from old projects and recycled fabrics. Six big boxes of them. Not to mention the three shelves of bags full of little scraps for decorations divided by color. Bottom line? No more room.
I started this round of Wardrobe refashion with the idea of using the stash fabrics. I also used stash fabrics for the Month of tops.
There was a mess in the closet from pulling out and pushing in. What is in there, anyway? This is what I found:
Green
Blue
Red
Beige, gold, brown
Pink, purple, patterns
Black, gray, white
Recycled
I suspect there's more in the boxes... Until I get to them - one tidy closet pic:
Of course, the recycled pile didn't fit in. It's still on the floor.

This knit is actually greener than in the pic and the stitch is particular but too tiny to see in a photo.
Double knit Lycra
There are some pieces to refashion, also.
Color - red coral, fabric - devore' velvet, pattern - roses and paisley with golden metal thread embroidery.
Will be made into a balloon skirt.
Color-light gray, fabric - flanel, pattern - I like to think of them as snowflakes, not flowers, embroidered.
Small piece. Just enough for an A-lined skirt.
I have to confess, I've already cut them...:-)
I fell in love with this fabric the minute I saw it, and instantly envisioned a knee length coat. There was the red version too, but I figured this would be the color I would wear more often, with jeans for example.
I bought it this summer for a really really good price. I found a few nice patterns and can't wait to start sewing!
Shall I make a muslin first? Oh, absolutely! This is something I don't want to ruin, right?
